We know the social change happens when everyday people stand up for the change they want and reach out to others to get them on board too. But doing that on a regular basis on one's own isn't easy....
I'm Sue. I've been facilitating and volunteering with Climate for Change for around 18 months and I'm calling for collaborators to step up the pressure on our MPs in the lead-up to the next federal and state elections.
We know lots of you really care about climate change and are frustrated by the lack of response from our leaders. People often tell us they want to do something, but they’re not sure what, how, or where to start. And it’s hard to do it on your own. So I’m driving an initiative supported by C4C for people to get involved and focus on things we can actually do, with some support, resources and encouragement.
I'm looking for volunteers to work with me to motivate and support people to engage with their local MPs on a regular basis by hosting a monthly get together. I’ll be driving this initiative with support from C4C. If you’re interested in collaborating, we’re having a meeting on Sunday afternoon, 22 July, to explain and develop this idea further.
Time commitment: Up to 5 or 6 hours once a month, on an ongoing basis
Skills/resources required: Able to organise and host a place for people to meet-up (could be your home, or the local library or pub...); Confident running a meeting using guided resources
Contact: If you think this could be you, RSVP here and you'll receive the venue details of the meeting.
See you there!
