RSVP for our Zoom MP Engagement Group (MPEG) event - Thursday 19th June 7.30-9pm (AEST)
Join us on Thursday 19th, at 7:30 PM (AEST, click here for your local time) for an engaging online session with Climate for Change's MP Engagement Team.
Writing to your elected representative is one of the most effective things you can do to make your voice heard, and to put pressure on governments to take action on climate change. This session will support you to do just that!
The focus of this session will be on the Generation Justice campaign. A group of Australian young people have lodged a human rights complaint against the Australian Government with the UN Special Rapporteur on Climate Change.'
We’re thrilled to be joined by Zhanāe, one of the young complainants, who will share about her reasons for joining the campaign. Please see a bit about Zhanāe below:
“I’m Zhanāe, 28, and a proud Aboriginal woman living on Darumbal Country. I’ve witnessed climate change damaging my Country and beyond, from my homelands to across the Pacific. It’s threatening the land we rely on and the cultural knowledge we carry. I’m speaking up because our land, our people, and our future deserve protection – and justice.”
Come along to the session to learn about how you can support them!
Make sure you RSVP below for the Zoom link!
We'll support you to put effective pressure on our Federal and State MPs by writing emails and planning calls and visits to them. If you're new to this activity there'll be plenty of help and all the resources you need to take effective action. Whether you're a newbie, or have joined us before, everyone is welcome!
You'll need your laptop or tablet. We'll have templates, materials, and ideas to make it easy to write emails to MPs that make a difference.
We'll send you the Zoom link when you RSVP below.
Newcomers welcome! What are you waiting for? :) Don’t miss this opportunity to learn, engage, and make a difference. Together, we can work towards a more transparent and fair democracy that prioritises the health of people and our planet.
