Hope Through Action - Post US election working bee

Facing four years of a presidency with withdrawal from the Paris Agreement on the policy agenda is scary. And so many of us have identities that are directly undermined by the sexist, racist, and bigoted rhetoric we’ve heard in this election cycle. Although the world is not America, we know what happens in the US does impact our culture and life in Australia too.

It is OK to feel all the feelings as we process news and adjust to our new world. Sometimes, it can help to focus on things that are in our control, and take action in those spaces.

In Australia, we are headed into an election in 2025. It is essential that we put climate action on the agenda in this election. We know that engaging with your local MP is a key thing we can all do, and all have power over

We are hosting an informal working bee on Saturday to offer our community a chance to connect, support each other, and get some tasks done. You can expect:

  • Resources for writing letters to Australian politicians on Climate Action (but people wanting to write about other issues are also welcome)
  • Self care resources and activities
  • Breakout rooms for venting and non-election chat

Make sure you RSVP below for the Zoom link!

You'll need your laptop or tablet. We'll have templates, materials, and ideas to make it easy to write emails to MPs that make a difference.

We'll send you the Zoom link when you RSVP below.

Newcomers welcome!
