    MP Engagement Group – Brisbane

It's almost the end of the first 100 days of our new government. This is a very important time to email your new or returning MP to introduce yourself as a community member who cares, and to let them know how you want them to act on climate change. We will reach out to Federal & State MPs to introduce ourselves and ask for a time to visit them in person. They should be keen to take the mood of constituents post-election, so it's a great time to meet with them and have a direct chat!

We'll unveil the new climate solutions Queensland CAN Roadmap from the Queensland Conservation Council (QCC), who have partnered with the Australian Conservation Foundation (ACF) and the World Wide Fund for Nature to create this essential tool for climate action. The roadmap demonstrates how we can create jobs while cutting pollution to protect our iconic Reef, rainforests and communities from climate impacts. It's an excellent resource to send to your MP and also use in your meeting with them.

We'll talk about meeting with your MP and direct you to some great resources to help you plan. Our fabulous MPEG volunteer team have also prepared a number of issue briefings for you here with links to extra background reading, if you want to find out more before the session. (Not necessary though – just come along and we'll fill you in.)

ALL WELCOME – feel free to invite along any friends or family who are keen to take action, even if it's their first time!

We will be hosting this MPEG for people from any electorate around Brisbane to come together and write to their Federal or State MP's, so no matter where you are, come join us! It will be held in person at The Burrow, 52 Russell St, West End.

You'll need your laptop or tablet, and we'll have templates, materials, and ideas to make it easy to make a difference.
