Steve Ray

Steve has worked in the environmental and social change movement for more than 30 years.  During that time, he has worked in and for national, state and local Government, corporate and not-for-profit organizations.

He has worked with The Groupwork Centre as a facilitator and trainer since 2008. His experience in emotional resilience, facilitation, conflict resolution and collaborative decision making form a major part of his work in training and consultancy with work teams and groups of many kinds. Organisations routinely report significant and profound shifts in their working culture after attending these workshops. The learning is often transformational because it uncovers and shifts the unconscious patterns of behavior which form a major part of our make-up.

As Executive Director of the local government network Environs Australia, he took the International Agenda 21 sustainability program to Local Government organisations around Australia in 2000.

In 2002 he co-ordinated a delegation of Local government leaders in Australia that attended the World Summit on Sustainable Development in Johannesburg.  During this time, collaboration became a bigger focus of his life as he sought to build partnerships with a range of organisations.

Steve was also a co-founder of Vox Bandicoot, one of the first environmental consultancy organizations in Victoria established in 1988, performing and delivering environmental education programs to tens of thousands of school students.

As an Open Heart Meditation Instructor, Steve also teaches people to connect more deeply to their inner selves to find the grounded and connected wisdom that resides there.
