Challenge for Climate Webinar - Unsilencing the Majority - how Australians can help accelerate progress on climate change

This year, we are launching our 2026 Challenge for Climate campaign with our "Unsilencing the Majority" webinar focused on how Australians can help accelerate progress on climate change.

The Challenge for Climate is our peer-to-peer campaign: ten days of climate action, community and fundraising to build the momentum for lasting climate action. Together, we’ll raise the funds and public pressure needed to keep climate change front and centre in the decisions that shape our future.

To kick off this year's campaign, join us for an inspiring evening featuring special guest speakers who will share different perspectives on climate communication, alongside research, stories and examples of how ordinary people are helping to accelerate progress on climate change around Australia.

Meet our panel, facilitated by our very own Professor Lesley Head - Chair of Climate for Change,

      • Dr Karl Kruszelnicki - Award-winning science communicator, author of 48 books, and advocate for science education and public engagement. Recognised with the UNESCO Kalinga Prize, Ig Nobel Prize, and appointment as a Member of the Order of Australia.
      • Varsha Yajman - Indian Australian youth advocate, lawyer, and journalist exploring the intersection of race, climate justice, and mental health.
      • Nelli Stevenson: Climate and energy communications leader and expert in audience research and strategic communications. A Fellow of the Centre for Australian Progress and Chair of Swinburne University’s Media and Communications Course Advisory Committee.

    This event is perfect for:

    • Anyone feeling the weight of climate concern but not knowing where to start
    • Those looking to connect with like-minded climate advocates
    • Challenge participants seeking inspiration before their 10-day mission
    • Supporters wanting to understand the 'why' behind the challenge

RSVP now to secure your spot at our pre-challenge event.

Join us as we harness our shared concerns into collective action and prepare to make the Challenge for Climate 2026 our most impactful yet!

Inner West Ale Trail - Tax Gas - Rozelle Climate Action Club

Let's show a 25% gas tax passes the pub test

Beer drinkers in Australia pay more tax than gas companies pay to extract our gas. We think it’s time for big climate polluters to pay their fair share. So, we’re hitting the Inner West Ale Trail in Sydney to ask our government to tax our gas exports properly.

This will be a casual meet up - all we will ask is that you snap a quick selfie with your beer (or drink of choice), and send it to your local MP and Albo! Bring your friends, or come and meet some new ones.

We will be at Sydney Brewery Rozelle from 6pm

We're aiming to tour the whole Inner West Ale Trail over the next few months - follow us @climateforchangeau to stay in the loop!

Due to venue constraints, places are limited so register now to secure your spot. We also have some limited special merch to give away - first preference to earliest RSVPs!
